Jonathan “Brad” Bradley Haislip, a longtime resident of Highlands County, Florida, passed away on August 14, 2024, at the age of 49. Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, Brad made Avon Park his home after moving from Delray Beach in 1983. His passing has left a quiet ache in the hearts of those who knew his steady presence and kind spirit.
Brad worked as a project manager in the home improvement field, known for his strong work ethic and down-to-earth leadership. Those who worked alongside him knew him as dependable and hands-on, the kind of guy who made the job better just by being there. Away from work, he found connection and strength through his faith and community at First Sebring Methodist Church.
Family meant everything to Brad. He leaves behind his wife, Emily, and a blended family that includes daughters Rosie and Kylee, stepdaughter Savannah, and stepsons Tucker, Colton, and Matthew. His role as a father and stepfather was one he took seriously—with patience, love, and the kind of quiet example that sticks with you long after the moment passes. He’s also survived by his mother, Beverly, and siblings Dale, Henry, Misty, and Neatha, along with a host of nieces and nephews who knew him as the uncle who always made time.
Brad was preceded in death by his fathers, Charles and Arthur, and brothers Troy and Antonio—losses that shaped his compassion and grounded his outlook on life.
A memorial service was held on August 21, 2024, at First Sebring Methodist Church, where friends, family, and neighbors gathered to honor a life that, while cut too short, left behind lasting love and deep impact. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to The Miracle League of Highlands County, an organization Brad supported and believed in.
Brad lived simply, with purpose and heart. Whether working with his hands, showing up for family, or being a steady friend, he moved through life with grace and humility. His legacy is not just in what he did—but in how he lived: present, grounded, and always putting others first.
